Flower City Acupuncture is a collaborative community clinic founded by Dr. Jacki Fichtner and Dr. Shamus Clancey - two practitioners coming together under a shared vision of accessible, community-rooted care. Sessions are offered by both practitioners, and coverage is shared between them. When you book a community session, you are booking into the Flower City clinic - not with a specific provider.
The community clinic operates on a separate booking system from Living Yin private sessions. Please use the booking link (coming soon) on this page for all community appointments.
We are living in a moment that asks enormous amounts of us. The pace, the noise, the relentless demands on our attention and our energy - the cumulative weight of modern life on the nervous system is real, and it is significant.
Flower City Acupuncture exists as a response to that reality.

what to expect
Community sessions are designed to be simple, streamlined, and restful.
New patients will complete a more detailed digital intake form before their first appointment. Returning patients complete a brief digital check-in form before each session. Both are sent automatically upon booking and should be completed before you arrive.
Sessions are simultaneous - several patients arrive at the same time and choose an open treatment table. Each session runs as a one-hour group block. The room is quiet by design, and you are welcome to settle in wherever feels right to you. There is no extended conversation during community sessions, and we ask that you honor that stillness for yourself and for those around you.
The community room is accompanied by immersive music and soundscapes designed by Dr. Shamus Clancey with nervous system regulation in mind, played in Dolby Atmos surround sound. It is an intentional, clinically informed sonic environment that works alongside your treatment to support rest and the kind of nervous system settling that allows real healing to take place.
You'll rest with needles for approximately 30 minutes.
Most people find the shared stillness in the community room surprisingly profound. There is something particular about resting alongside others that carries its own power.
You are welcome to bring an eye mask or anything else that supports your rest. Please arrive on time - sessions begin together and late arrivals disrupt the experience for everyone in the room.

Community sessions are designed to be streamlined and treatment-focused, and that is exactly what makes them valuable. But there are times when the depth and individuality of a private session is simply what the situation calls for.
A private session with Dr. Jacki is the right choice when you:
~ Are seeking specialized women's health care with extended clinical attention
~ Need to discuss labs, diagnostic results, or updates on your current cycle
~ Are navigating a complex, sensitive, or evolving presentation
~ Have questions, concerns, or anything that requires a conversation before or during treatment
~ Are new to acupuncture and want a thorough introduction to the medicine and how it applies to your specific situation
Private sessions with Dr. Jacki focus exclusively on women's health across the reproductive lifespan - fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, gynecological health, and peri/menopause.
Private sessions with Dr. Shamus focus on wellness, men's health, and pain management.
Both practitioners also work hours in the Flower City community room.

pricing & Booking
We are committed to making consistent, high-quality acupuncture care accessible to the Rochester community. Our pricing is straightforward and transparent.
Community Session ~ $55
A hardship rate of $45 is available for those experiencing financial difficulty.
To access this rate, please reach out before booking.
Sessions are booked directly through our online booking page.
New Patients will receive a detailed intake form upon booking - please complete this before your first appointment.
Returning patients will receive a brief check-in form before each session - please complete this before every community session. This form is how we stay current with where you are in your health and your cycle, and it ensures your treatment is always informed and appropriate.
Community hours are offered during select times each week by both Dr. Jacki and Dr. Shamus.
